After The Training began with a simple realisation:
Learning how to perform a service and learning how to build a business are two completely different things.

Technical training teaches you the skill. Then you qualify—and suddenly you are expected to understand pricing, costs, clients, enquiries, marketing, cancellations, boundaries, quiet months and growth.

That gap can feel enormous.
I know because I lived it.

For a long time, I believed that the next course would be the one that finally transformed everything.
The next qualification would make the business successful.
The next marketing programme would bring consistent bookings.
The next expert would provide the missing answer.
Whenever one idea failed to create the result I had hoped for, another polished course or programme appeared—promising a clearer strategy, better visibility or the breakthrough I felt I must be missing.

Some offered genuinely useful lessons. But over time, I began to notice a pattern.
Much of the advice covered the same broad ideas, presented in slightly different language. It was often designed to apply to many businesses at once, which meant it could not always account for my prices, clients, costs, capacity, priorities or circumstances.

More personalised business support was frequently hidden behind expensive ongoing subscriptions. They offered access to large libraries of information, group advice and ambitious promises—but not necessarily the structured, individual thinking I actually needed.

I did not need another person’s formula.
​
I needed help understanding my own business.
After The Training was created from that experience: building a real service business without a clear commercial roadmap, investing in hopeful solutions, making expensive mistakes and learning lessons that technical training had never prepared me for.

The workbooks grew from the resource that had been missing all along—a structured place to slow down, examine the numbers, ask better questions and decide what the business should actually look like.
